Labels explained

Clear, simple labelling

All our meat and poultry is packed by BRC (British Retail Consortium) accredited suppliers or Equivalent.

You can be confident that it will arrive in perfect condition with all the information you need on the label. Current UK legislation requires caterers to provide clear food descriptions on their menus, however some suppliers still make it difficult to find the information you require. Prime Meats ensure that wherever possible the supplier name and address appears on the packaging.

Our labels meet or exceed EU and UK legislation giving the product description or cut, product weight, appropriate storage temperature and use by date.

Beef labelling regulations

UK beef joint and steak labels will confirm:- Slaughtered in, Cut in and the Country of origin. The badges of relevant assurance schemes will also appear on labels and our association with these organisations guarantees our meat and poultry is sourced from farms where animals are reared responsibly and fed a healthy diet. Red Tractor accreditation gives an added assurance of British provenance where customers choose to buy British.
